Stock Location Value

A warehouse is usually valued as a whole. But as soon as you keep material on a site yard, in a dedicated bay or in a separate area, the question becomes a different one: how much value is parked exactly there?

Who is it for

Companies that spread their stock across several areas, bays or sites and need to know the value of each of them, not just the total.

How it works

  • Every storage area shows its own inventory value.
  • An area automatically includes the value of all the areas below it.
  • The value follows stock movements and cost changes on its own, with no recalculation to launch.
  • Available as a column in the list of areas, so you can sort and compare them.

The result: You see at a glance where your working capital is sitting.

Stock Location Value

Inventory valuation of a stock location, including its child locations

Adds the inventory value of a stock location, computed from the quants it holds and rolled up from all of its child locations.

Features

  • Stock Value on every location, recomputed whenever a stock quantity or a child location value changes.
  • The value of a parent location includes the value of every descendant location.
  • Computed with elevated rights, so the valuation is correct even when the user triggering the recomputation is not an inventory manager.

Demo data

  • A Site Yard location under WH/Stock with two racks, holding 250 cement bags in total.
  • The yard reports 1 700.00 of stock value, of which 816.00 on rack A and 544.00 on rack B: the parent location adds up its children.
