Project Task Tree Hierarchy
Multi-level tree of tasks and subtasks (task, subtask, sub-subtask…) with allocated time
Adds the tree view to project tasks. Tasks, subtasks, sub-subtasks and so on appear as one indented, expandable table, so the whole breakdown of a project can be read and reorganised from a single screen.
What you see
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Task | The name, indented by level, with the number of its subtasks. |
| Priority, assignees, stage, deadline | As in the task list. |
| Allocated time | The time allocated to each task. As in Odoo, a parent’s allocated time already covers its subtasks, so the footer adds only the main tasks and nothing is counted twice. |
| Project, tags, status | Optional columns, shown on demand. |
Where you find it
- The tasks of each project
- All Tasks
- My Tasks
Working in the tree
- Expand all, collapse all, or open the tree down to the level you need.
- Search as usual: matching subtasks appear with their parent tasks in grey.
- Drag a task onto another to make it a subtask, or onto the top bar to make it a main task.
- The “+” on a row creates a subtask in the same project.
- A click on a row opens the task.
Good to know
Unlike the list and kanban views, the tree always shows subtasks, whatever the “Show Sub-tasks” setting. It is built on Tree Hierarchy View, which is installed with it.
